When a floor climbs and a ladder would be too slow, the Stairs and Ladders tab offers the Stone Stair, a solid flight cut from eight Stone. It takes the same punishment the walls do, and it carries traffic up a storey without the rot or the fire risk of a wooden run.
How to Build It
It costs eight Stone and needs a Stonecutter nearby, which makes it one of the pricier stone pieces for the space it fills. It needs something underneath that stone will actually take support from. Start the flight on the ground or on a stone floor instead of hanging it from a wooden frame, and place the landing first so the top of the run has somewhere to arrive.
