A straight flight of stairs eats half a room, but the Dvergr Spiral Staircase Left lifts you a whole storey inside a two by two footprint. It is one of the two handed versions in the Stairs & Ladders tab, built from Yggdrasil wood banded with copper. It is the tidiest way up a narrow tower when you have no floor to spare for a landing.
How to Build It
Each section costs eight Yggdrasil wood and two copper, and you place it within range of a black forge. An ordinary Forge does not count, only the Black Forge. Stack sections directly on top of one another to carry the spiral up through several floors. Roof the whole run before you finish it, because this piece takes rain damage, unlike the dvergr stakewall.
