Yagluth is the fifth of the Forsaken and the boss of the Plains. He is a colossal Fuling Skeleton with no legs, crowned with black metal swords, and he has ten thousand health. The fight is a siege rather than a duel. He barely moves, hauling himself forward on two enormous hands. Instead, he turns the ground you stand on into fire, falling stone and lightning until you either learn the arena or the arena kills you.
Behaviour
When summoned, he breaks out of the earth slowly, and that is the only free damage the fight ever offers. From then on he is permanently awake with no stagger bar at all, so nothing you do will interrupt anything he starts. He cycles through three abilities. The beam is a forty metre breath of fireballs that comes every fifteen seconds. Each projectile deals 40 fire and 20 lightning, and it leaves you burning and shocked at the same time. The meteors come every twenty-five seconds. He raises his left fist to announce them, then drops a spread of stones that each explode in a five metre burst for 40 blunt and 120 fire. They are the most lethal thing in the fight, and also the attack with the longest warning. The nova is his answer to anyone standing close. It is a ground slam on a twenty second cooldown that expands out to ten metres for 65 fire and 65 lightning, and it leaves blue flame burning on the ground afterwards. He also bends the weather around his altar, forcing darkness and shutting off the rain. That quietly strips away the Wet status and the free fire resistance that comes with it. He never flees, never heals and never calls for help. The Fulings in the grass nearby are neighbours, not allies.
Where to Find It
Yagluth is summoned, never spawned. You call him up by placing five Fuling Totems on his Forsaken Altar, a ring of standing stones out in the open Plains. Runestones inside the Stonehenge rings of the same biome mark its location. Gathering the totems is most of the work. Each Bonfire in a Fuling Village has a fifty per cent chance of one beside it, and certain variants of the Fuling Outpost always carry one. Fuling Berserkers drop them roughly one time in ten, and Stonehenge chests hold one about three times in a hundred. Totems are genuinely uncommon and no single site guarantees one, so expect to sweep several villages across a wide stretch of Plains. Pick a totem up before you smash the pedestal it stands on, because it does not drop afterwards.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Everything about this fight is fire, so Fire Resistance Barley Wine is not optional: count the bottles before you touch the altar. In return he shrugs off fire and is very resistant to pierce. That makes the bow you cleared the biome with the wrong weapon, and anything flaming too. Blunt, slash, frost and lightning all land at full value, so a Black Metal Sword, Frostner or the Black Metal Atgeir are the tools for the job. He cannot be staggered, so parrying pays nothing and a tower shield has no edge over mobility. The fight is all footwork. Stay in melee, where the beam is least effective. Run clear of the meteor spread the instant his fist comes up. Step out of the ten metre nova circle instead of trying to absorb it, and keep in mind the blue flame it leaves behind. Flatten the ground and cut the tall grass beforehand so nothing snags you mid-dodge. Bring a second player if you can, since he only tracks one target at a time. Full padded armour, fire resistance and fully upgraded Black Metal make this comfortable; with anything less, the meteors decide the outcome.
Drops
His corpse drops three Torn Spirits, and each one builds a Wisp Fountain. That fountain is the key to the Wisplight, and so to seeing anything at all in the Mistlands.

Forsaken Power
Hang the Yagluth trophy on its stone at the Sacrificial Stones and you can call on his power:
- 50% lightning resistance
- +25 farming skill
- +10% damage of every type
It is the only power that raises a skill, and the only one that boosts every damage type at once.
The power lasts five minutes. Every Forsaken power shares one twenty-minute cooldown, so only one is ever active. Anyone within ten metres of you gets it too.
Notes
- After Yagluth come the Seeker Queen in the Mistlands and Fader, fallen king of the Ashlands.
- After Yagluth spawns in, he breaks through the ground slowly. You can attack him before he starts moving or attacking, racking up some free damage before the boss fight really begins.
- The in-game trophies menu holds another description of Yagluth: "Sometimes, the eyes still move and the lips mutter silently..."
- Yagluth's crown is made of black metal swords.
