Wooden Missile is a weapon you never hold. It feeds the ballista twenty at a time, and you make it from Corewood cut in the Black Forest plus a handful of Feathers. Each missile deals 75 pierce. With 75 total damage it ranks 8th for damage among ammunition, so it is a step on the ladder rather than the top of it. Pierce damage hurts the Troll more than most things, and that is what you carry it for.
How to Craft
You craft it at a level 1 Artisan Table from:
- 5x Corewood, chopped from Pine trees in the Black Forest.
- 2x Feathers, which drop from crows and gulls and turn up in chests in the Meadows.

When to Use It
Use it in the early game. It needs Black Forest materials, which means it comes after Eikthyr and the Antler Pickaxe.
Properties
This is ballista ammunition, crafted at the Artisan Table. You do not throw it or fire it by hand. The ballista is a placed defence that shoots these missiles at anything that comes near your walls.
Each missile deals 75 pierce, and wood is free. That is the point of this one: you can keep a base defence loaded indefinitely without spending metal on it.
Notes
- Ammunition damage is added to the weapon's base damage before any other calculation. That is why the arrow, not the bow, decides the damage type of a shot.
- Bows fire arrows and crossbows fire bolts, and the 2 are not interchangeable.
- If you carry more than one kind, right-click the stack to choose which one is used.
