The Wooden Missile is a piece of ammunition in Valheim, dealing 75 pierce. At 75 total damage it is 8th of the 26 ammunition, so it is a step on the ladder rather than the top of it. Pierce damage hurts Troll more than most things, which is what to carry it for.

How to Craft

Crafted at Artisan table, station level 1.
Costs 5x Corewood, 2x Feathers at quality 1.
Materials can be found in the Black Forest biome.

When to Use It

Early game. It is gated on Black Forest materials, which means after Eikthyr and the Antler Pickaxe.

Properties

Ballista ammunition, from the Artisan table. Not thrown and not fired by hand: the ballista is a placed defence that shoots these at whatever comes near your walls.

75 pierce, and wood is free. The point of this one is that a base defence can be kept loaded indefinitely without spending metal on it.

Notes

Ammunition damage is added to the weapon's base damage before any other calculation, which is why the arrow and not the bow decides a shot's damage type.
Arrows are fired by bows and bolts by crossbows; the 2 are not interchangeable.
With more than one kind in the inventory, right-clicking the stack selects which is used.
