Flametal Missile is the heaviest round you can load into a ballista, made at an Artisan Table from Ashlands Flametal and Ashwood. It deals 140 pierce damage. At 140 total damage it ranks 2nd among ammunition, so it is a step on the ladder rather than the top of it. Pierce damage hurts the Tick and the Troll more than most things, and that is what to carry it for.
How to Craft
Craft it at a level 1 Artisan Table with:
- 10x Ashwood: Chopped from scorched trees in the Ashlands.
- 1x Flametal: Smelted from Flametal Ore in a Blast Furnace.

When to Use It
This is late-game ammo. Flametal comes from the Ashlands, the furthest south the map goes.
Properties
It deals 140 pierce damage, the heaviest Ballista round in the game. You craft it at the Artisan Table with Flametal.
Make it for an Ashlands outpost. That is the one place where what walks up to your wall is worth spending Flametal on ammo you fire and lose.
Notes
- Ammunition damage is added to the weapon's base damage before any other calculation. That is why the arrow, not the bow, decides a shot's damage type.
- Bows fire arrows and crossbows fire bolts, and the 2 are not interchangeable.
- If you carry more than one kind, right-click the stack to choose which one is used.
