Parallax is a weapon mod for pistols and revolvers that turns a handgun into a steadier long range weapon. While V aims, the gun gains effective range and sways less. At Tier 5 the shots lose no damage over distance and the sway is gone. The price is that Stamina does not refill while V aims. It suits a careful shooter who lines up one shot at a time. Parallax is available from the early game, since weapon vendors can stock its lower tiers.
Effect
Parallax works while V aims down sights.
The first bonus is effective range. A shot normally loses damage once it travels past that range. At Tier 1 the range rises by 11%. At Tier 4 it rises by 35%. At Tier 5 the weapon has no damage drop-off at long range at all.
The second bonus is less weapon sway. Sway is the slow drift of the sights while V holds aim. At Tier 1 sway falls by 12.5%. At Tier 4 it falls by 50%. At Tier 5 the sights do not sway at all.
The drawback is the same at every tier. Stamina does not regenerate while V aims with the weapon. Shooting a gun costs Stamina, so a long aim with many shots can empty the bar. Lowering the sights lets Stamina refill again.
Parallax is worth the slot on a revolver or a heavy pistol used for single, aimed shots from far away.
How to Get Parallax Guide
- Check weapon vendors, which sometimes stock Tiers 1 to 3.
- Skip time by a day and check again if it is not on sale.

Upgrades
Parallax comes in Tiers 1 to 5. A matching pair of the same mod and tier can be combined at the crafting menu into one copy a tier higher. The Tier 5 copy removes damage drop-off and sway entirely. A mod can only go on a weapon of the same tier or higher. Once installed in a weapon, the mod stays in that weapon.
Character Builds
Parallax belongs in a Cool build that fights with handguns. Focus adds damage to headshots and weak spots. Deadeye raises headshot and weak spot damage further. Long Shot makes shots deal full damage at any distance while Deadeye is active. Nerves Of Tungsten-Steel adds guaranteed critical hits on headshots and weak spots while Deadeye is active.
The Stamina drawback needs some care. California Reaper restores Stamina after a kill by headshot or weak spot. Lowering the sights between targets also lets Stamina recover.
