The HJKE-11 Yukimura is Arasaka's smart pistol, a compact sidearm that fires homing rounds at whatever V has locked. Its long magazine and guided bullets let V keep shooting from the hip while moving between cover. It is a steady backup gun for an Intelligence build. It is also an easy first smart weapon for anyone new to them. It is the base of two Iconics: Skippy, the talking gun, and Genjiroh, an Arasaka burst pistol. The HJKE-11 Yukimura is a common pistol from the early game onward. Weapon vendors sell it, and it can be looted from enemies and NCPD crime scenes.
Combat
The Yukimura is a smart weapon. With a Smart Link installed, it locks onto enemies inside its tracking box, and its rounds curve toward them. Smart bullets can bend around low cover but travel slower than normal rounds. Smart guns also deal a little less raw damage in return for easier aiming.
In practice, the Yukimura rewards movement more than precision. V can strafe, slide and fire from the hip, and the rounds still hit. Its magazine is long for a pistol, so V can keep firing between reloads. Enemies who duck behind crates keep taking hits.
Its weak points are speed and distance. Rounds take a moment to reach a far target. An enemy who sprints out of the tracking box can break the lock. The Yukimura works best at short and mid range as a sidearm next to a heavier main gun.

Character Builds
The Yukimura uses perks from two attribute trees, Intelligence and Cool. In Intelligence, No Escape refreshes a fading lock when V shoots the target. Targeting Prism adds multiple locks while aiming. Terminal Velocity speeds up the rounds after each smart kill. Recirculation returns RAM after a smart kill. It returns more if the target was already hacked, which helps a netrunner who mixes quickhacks with pistol fire.
In Cool, Focus adds headshot and weakspot damage and unlocks Focus mode at full Stamina. Quick Draw speeds up the swap to a handgun and grants Stamina when swapping in combat. Run 'N' Gun removes the Stamina cost of hip-fire, which helps a gun that does its own aiming.
Smart Link is the essential cyberware, because it turns the smart targeting on. Its mod slots take smart and handgun mods. Panorama widens the smart targeting circle. It also keeps a lock for a moment after the target leaves the circle. Hackatomy, an Iconic mod, adds a chance to apply a quickhack effect based on the body part hit. Zenith adds crit chance for a few seconds after drawing the gun. Pinpoint reduces spread after each headshot, and Parallax steadies the gun while aiming.
Select a Build
Each fight starts with Overclock, then a control quickhack, then a combat quickhack. Smart guns lock on and finish the hacked enemies while Dashes and air Dashes keep the character moving. Silenced Smart guns and stealthy quickhacks also handle quiet gigs.

Lore
The Yukimura's in-game line makes the case for smart guns: aiming takes time V might not have. Arasaka builds it, and the pistol's smart system does the aiming that the line warns about.
Its two Iconics are very different. Skippy has an AI of its own that chats, jokes and changes fire mode whenever it likes. V can pick it up early in an alley in Vista del Rey. Genjiroh fires several rounds per burst and locks onto more than one enemy at a time. V can find it during the main job Play It Safe or later at the Arasaka Estate in North Oak.
Notes
- Skippy and Genjiroh are the Iconic variants of the HJKE-11 Yukimura.
