Queen of the Highway
Type Side Job
Giver Panam Palmer
Region Badlands
Location Nomad Camp
Previous With a Little Help from My Friends

Queen of the Highway is the last side job of Panam Palmer's storyline, after With a Little Help from My Friends. Panam invites V to drive the newly assembled Basilisk, the Panzer taken from Militech. The test run ends in a battle with the Raffen Shiv and a new role for Panam in the Aldecaldos. Finishing it opens the Aldecaldos ending, and a masculine V can start a romance with Panam here.

Story

Having Her Back

The journal states Night City's golden rule: once someone finally hits it big, it turns out they messed something else up. Panam has her Basilisk, but Saul is sure to throw her out before she can enjoy it. Johnny says that if V really likes her, now is the time to have her back.

A day after the raid on the convoy, Panam calls. The Panzer is assembled, and she asks if V wants to drive it. At the Mobile Camp in Rocky Ridge, the nomads are still finishing the Panzer's security systems. Cassidy says they left the stolen Militech trucks at a nearby Raffen Shiv camp, so the corporation would look there instead of at the Aldecaldos.

The Test Run

Panam starts the Basilisk, not without trouble. She explains that a pilot jacked into the machine feels it as part of their own body, and that a co-pilot is needed. Away from the camp, she lets V take the controls, steer through the wind farm and hit a set of targets. Then she connects too. With both of them jacked in, their systems become intertwined, and V feels strange sensations. Panam asks if V wants to try it out.

The Raffen Shiv

Suddenly the Raffen Shiv surround the Basilisk, and Saul calls on the radio: the camp is under attack too. V and Panam fight off the attackers and return to the camp. Saul tells Panam she has been making the right decisions for the family, admits he was wrong about her, asks her to lead the Aldecaldos alongside him, and hugs her. Panam says things will have to change if she is to take on the role.

The New Camp

At the camp's bar, Panam tells V that the clan owes much of its success to V, and that the Aldecaldos will be there if V ever needs them. She asks V to stay with the family. V passes out and wakes up in a tent: the Aldecaldos have moved camp to a safer place while V was out. Panam asks what is happening to V, and V explains the Relic. After talking with Mitch and Saul, Panam walks V back to V's car and asks how she can help.

Choices

Panam's Romance

A romance needs a masculine V who flirted with Panam in Riders on the Storm, kept her plan from Saul and helped her for her own sake in With a Little Help from My Friends. When she asks to push the link between them further, agreeing starts the romance scene.

The Family

Finishing this job makes the Aldecaldos V's allies, which opens the Aldecaldos path in Nocturne Op55N1.

Rewards

Completing Queen of the Highway pays 1,322 experience and 1,981 Street Cred. It also rewards Widowmaker (depending on choices).

The job pays experience and Street Cred. The Aldecaldo camp moves to a new site, with a new place for V to stay, and the camp's ripperdoc and gun vendor move with it.

Tips

If Nash survived Ghost Town, he appears among the Raffen Shiv here, and his Iconic rifle Widow Maker can be looted from him.
