Ralva the Great Red Bear is a field boss in Elden Ring. It is one of the expansion's additions, found in the Land of Shadow.
Ralva the Great Red Bear is a huge horned bear that roams a lakeside in Scadu Altus. It fights with crushing claw swipes, slams and a ground-shaking roar. Its pelt became the prize of a famous bloody bout. Fire and sleep make the fight much easier.
Lore
Ralva is a giant bear with red fur and horns jutting from its head. It is far larger than the runebears of the Lands Between.
Ralva was slain in a blood-soaked bout by a Redmane warrior. Its untreated pelt, worn on the head without change, became a token of the so-called bear communion.

Attacks
- Claw swipes: alternating forearm swings with long reach. A roll forward puts the player at its side for a counter.
- Beast Slam: it rears on its hind legs and slams both forelegs down. A roll forward avoids it, and a charged heavy attack lands during the wind-up.
- Earthshock: it slams its right foreleg and swipes upward, sending a fissure forward. A roll backward or to the side avoids it.
- Roar: a wave of force that hits everything around it. Stepping back or guarding avoids most of the damage.
- Shockwave: a forearm slam that sends a wave straight ahead. Moving off its line avoids it.
Tactics
- Summon a spirit ash such as the Mimic Tear Ashes.
- Bring Sleep Pots or Eternal Sleep Pots to stagger it and open a critical hit.
- Attack its sides and back after each claw swipe.
- Charge a heavy attack whenever it rears up for Beast Slam.
- Use fire damage, but note that the lake water weakens fire and strengthens lightning.
