Legs
The Legs slot decides how a character moves through Night City. It holds a single implant. Two choices change the jump, two change running speed, and one makes movement quiet. Every Legs implant also carries a block of Armor that rises with each tier. Acrobatic fighters pick a jump, melee rushers pick speed and stealth characters pick silence.
Effects
Jumps come from two implants. Reinforced Tendons add a double jump. A second press of Jump in midair adds extra height. Fortified Ankles change the jump button instead. Holding it charges the jump, and releasing it sends its user much higher and farther than a normal jump. Both reach rooftops, ledges and balconies without stairs or ladders.
Speed comes from two more. Jenkins' Tendons raise sprint speed the moment a sprint starts. The bonus begins at 30% and tapers to 10% after five seconds of sprinting. It recovers at the same rate once the sprint stops. The Leeroy Ligament System is the Iconic choice. It adds a flat 12% to 20% to all movement speed, and the bonus never fades.
Stealth comes from Lynx Paws. Movement becomes 50% quieter, so enemies are less likely to hear their user. Crouched movement speed rises, and fall damage drops by 20%.
Pros
- Every Legs implant adds Armor, whatever its main effect.
- Reinforced Tendons and Fortified Ankles open shortcuts across the city and in combat.
- The Leeroy Ligament System keeps its speed bonus through a whole fight, not only while sprinting.
- Lynx Paws cost only 5 capacity, and the other common Legs implants cost 6 to 8.
Cons
- The slot holds one implant, so a jump, a speed boost and quieter steps rule each other out.
- Jenkins' Tendons give their full bonus only in short sprints.
- Lynx Paws do nothing for open combat beyond their Armor and the cut to fall damage.
Cyberware Categories
Best Legs Cyberware
| Name | Image | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Reinforced Tendons | Double jump for combat and travel | |
| Leeroy Ligament System | Up to 20% movement speed at all times | |
| Fortified Ankles | Long charged jump | |
| Lynx Paws | Quieter steps and faster crouching | |
| Jenkins' Tendons | Strong burst of sprint speed |
Reinforced Tendons suit an acrobatic Reflexes build. The Leeroy Ligament System suits a fast melee fighter or a run and gun build. Lynx Paws suit a stealth character who sneaks through hideouts.
Character Builds
Each implant has its own attribute. Fortified Ankles and Jenkins' Tendons are attuned to Body, and each point adds half a point of max Health. Reinforced Tendons are attuned to Reflexes, and each point adds 0.1% Crit Chance. Lynx Paws are attuned to Cool, and each point adds headshot and weakspot damage.
- Air Dash unlocks a Dash in midair. With Reinforced Tendons, a fighter can chain a double jump and an Air Dash.
- Tailwind restores Stamina after each Air Dash and Double Jump.
- Aerial Acrobat improves control in midair, and Aerodynamic adds Mitigation Strength while airborne.
- Quake and Epicenter reward a slam from the air. Epicenter scales a midair Quake with fall speed and distance, so a charged jump from Fortified Ankles feeds it.
- Ninjutsu allows crouch-sprinting, and Feline Footwork raises crouched movement speed. Both stack with Lynx Paws.
- Dash and Mad Dash help a melee rusher close the gap on top of Jenkins' Tendons or the Leeroy Ligament System.
The Legs slot works closely with the Operating System. The Zetatech Sandevistan grows stronger in midair, and the Zetatech Berserk adds a Superhero Landing with Blunt Weapons. Both pair well with Reinforced Tendons or Fortified Ankles. In the Nervous System, the Adrenaline Converter and the Adreno-Trigger add a burst of speed when combat starts. That burst stacks with the Leeroy Ligament System.
Notes
- Reinforced Tendons, Fortified Ankles, Jenkins' Tendons and Lynx Paws reach ripperdocs at level 10.
- The Leeroy Ligament System is sold by the Dogtown ripperdocs from level 10, starting at Tier 2. It also drops from Dogtown airdrops.
- Jenkins' Tendons give more speed than the Leeroy Ligament System at the very start of a sprint. The Leeroy gives more over a long run and while fighting.
- The Leeroy Ligament System's Armor grows with each tier, like that of every other Legs implant.
