Face

Kiroshi "Cockatrice" Optics

The Face slot holds the eyes. It starts with one place. The Phantom Liberty main job Birds with Broken Wings unlocks a second place, when Farida installs the Behavioral Imprint-Synced Faceplate at her Dogtown clinic. Almost every Face implant is a pair of Kiroshi optics. Most models mark enemies, cameras or traps after a scan, and every model adds optical zoom. Stealth characters and netrunners plan their route with them. Gunfighters take the Cockatrice for raw Crit Chance instead.

Effects

Scanner highlights are the main job of the slot. Each scan marks a type of target, and the mark stays for 60 seconds. The Kiroshi Clairvoyant Optics mark every enemy within a set radius. The Kiroshi Sentry Optics mark cameras and turrets. The Kiroshi Doomsayer Optics mark explosive devices and traps. Kiroshi The Oracle Optics combine all three in one implant, and they also mark enemies behind cover. Every radius grows with each tier.

Aiming optics work through the weapon. The Kiroshi Stalker Optics connect to an equipped Tech weapon. While aiming, they show enemies behind cover in the middle of the field of view. A charged Tech shot can then go through the wall at the marked target. The Kiroshi Cockatrice Optics are the Iconic model. They mark nothing. Instead, they add 25% to 35% Crit Chance to every attack.

Stealth starts with the Basic Kiroshi Optics. They slow down how fast security cameras notice their user, and they cost only 1 capacity. The Behavioral Imprint-Synced Faceplate changes both the face and the digital identity of its user. Outside combat, that clears a police bounty of up to four stars.

Pros

  • One scan with The Oracle shows the guards, the security and the traps of a whole hideout.
  • The Cockatrice raises Crit Chance on every attack, with any weapon.
  • The Stalker turns a Tech weapon into a tool for shooting through cover.
  • The Basic Kiroshi Optics, the Doomsayer, the Sentry and the Stalker cost almost no capacity.
  • The Faceplate costs no capacity at all.

Cons

  • The scanner models only help after a scan. The marks fade after 60 seconds.
  • The Cockatrice takes 30 capacity.
  • The Faceplate has a long cooldown of 25 minutes at its first tier, and it only works outside combat.
  • The Stalker only works with an equipped Tech weapon.

The Cockatrice suits any build that stacks critical hits. The Oracle frees the second Face slot, because it does the work of three scanner models.

Character Builds

The optics cover every attribute. The Basic Kiroshi Optics and the Clairvoyant are attuned to Cool. Each point adds 0.2% headshot and weakspot damage. The Doomsayer is attuned to Reflexes, and each point adds a little Crit Chance. The Sentry is attuned to Intelligence. The Stalker is attuned to Technical Ability, and each point adds half a point of Armor. The Oracle is attuned to Body, and each point adds half a point of Health.

  • Deadeye and Nerves Of Tungsten-Steel turn headshots into guaranteed crits. The Cockatrice then adds Crit Chance to every other shot.
  • Bolt unlocks Bolt shots, and Shock Value makes Bolts ignore enemy Armor. Both pair with the Stalker, which shows the targets behind cover.
  • Eye In The Sky highlights nearby cameras and Access Points on its own, much like the Sentry.
  • Feline Footwork and Ninjutsu support a stealth run with the Basic Kiroshi Optics or the Clairvoyant.

In the Nervous System, Visual Cortex Support and the Deep-Field Visual Interface stack more Crit Chance with the Cockatrice. A Sandevistan in the Operating System slot adds Crit Chance while it runs.

Notes

  • Viktor installs the Basic Kiroshi Optics during the main job The Ripperdoc.
  • The Cockatrice is sold by the Dogtown ripperdocs and drops from Dogtown airdrops.
  • The Oracle reaches ripperdocs at level 30, and the Clairvoyant at level 20.
  • A Clairvoyant also waits in an airdrop at Tranquil Terrace after the job Lucretia My Reflection.
  • The Faceplate's cooldown drops to 20 minutes at Tier 5+ and 15 minutes at Tier 5++.
  • The Faceplate is needed for the next Phantom Liberty job, I've Seen That Face Before.
  • Optical zoom reaches ten times at Tier 5 on every Kiroshi model.
