Jenkins' Tendons give V a burst of extra sprint speed at the start of every sprint. The boost is strongest in the first seconds and then tapers off. It comes back when V stops sprinting. The implant suits any character who closes the gap to enemies on foot, such as a melee or shotgun build. It also adds armor and a little Health for each point of Body. Jenkins' Tendons are an early game implant that every ripperdoc sells from level 10.
Effect
Jenkins' Tendons raise sprint speed as soon as V starts to sprint. The bonus is highest at the start. Over five seconds of continued sprinting, it tapers down to a small bonus of 10%. When V stops sprinting, the bonus recovers at the same rate it was lost.
The implant rewards short, sharp sprints. A quick dash across open ground gets the full bonus. A long run across the city settles at the lower bonus after a few seconds. Short pauses between sprints let the bonus refill.
The implant also adds a block of armor. The armor rises with each tier.
Jenkins' Tendons are attuned to Body. Each point of Body adds half a point of max Health through the implant.

Upgrades
Ripperdocs sell Jenkins' Tendons from level 10, and the tier they stock rises every 10 levels. An installed copy can be raised a tier at a ripperdoc with the matching item components. Each tier raises the starting sprint bonus and the armor. Each copy also carries small stat bonuses. The Driver Update perk adds one more. The Chipware Connoisseur perk offers a choice of bonuses when V upgrades the implant. V gains Cyberware Capacity with each level and from Cyberware Capacity Shards. The Edgerunner perk lets V go over the limit at the cost of some max Health.
The table shows what each tier step of Jenkins' Tendons costs at a ripperdoc.

Character Builds
The Legs slot holds only one implant. Jenkins' Tendons compete with Fortified Ankles, which charge a long jump, and with Reinforced Tendons, which grant a double jump. Lynx Paws, the stealth choice, sit in the same slot.
Body perks reward a fast fighter. Speed Junkie raises Health regen while sprinting. Juggernaut adds movement speed and damage while Adrenaline Rush is active. Wrecking Ball lets V barrel into enemies while sprinting and blocking with a Blunt weapon.
Reflexes perks let V fight on the move. Multitasker lets V shoot while sprinting, sliding and vaulting. Muscle Memory lets V reload in the same situations. Slippery makes V harder to hit the faster V moves.
Lore
The in-game description is a short joke: "At least you'll have chicken."
