The Carian Sorcery Sword is a Thrusting Sword in Elden Ring.

When to Use It

Shadow of the Erdtree. It is found around Scadu Altus in the expansion, which opens only once Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood are beaten.

Upgrades

Ordinary Smithing Stones carry it all the way to +25, and because it is not a Somber weapon it will also hold a grease or a weapon buff, which is a damage source the unique blades simply do not have.

Build

Its scaling runs Str at E, Dex at D and Int at D, so Dex and Int are the stats worth levelling, and you need Str 10, Dex 19 and Int 16 before you can lift it. Any Ash of War and any affinity will sit on it, so its scaling can be re-cut towards whichever stat you are already levelling. It also becomes a catalyst for Glintstone Sorceries upon using Strong attacks on its own, with no infusion needed.

Critical Damage

Critical 110. A backstab, or a riposte after a guard break, is multiplied by this, where 100 is the baseline most weapons carry.

One weapon of its class reach higher, topping out at 130.
It pays for getting behind an enemy or breaking their stance rather than trading hits in the open.

One of the Carian royal family's glintstone swords. A small piercing sword with a slender blade. Formerly used by the Carian knights of old before the full refinement of their sorcerous combat techniques, this armament functions as a catalyst for glintstone sorcery when executing strong attacks.
