The Hefty Scimitar is a Curved Greatsword in Elden Ring. It is found early on, in Limgrave.

The Hefty Scimitar is a curved blade of considerable size whose keen edge is made more deadly by its imposing weight. It is the starting weapon of the Heavy Knight class and can also be bought from the Nomadic Merchant in eastern Limgrave near the Mistwood. It has the lowest stat requirements of any curved greatsword and is the only infusible one that is not an enemy drop. Its great, sweeping slashes mow through multiple foes at once, with above-average base damage though somewhat short reach and modest scaling split between Strength and Dexterity. It suits an early melee character, especially one in heavy armor.

Skill

Spinning Slash costs 6 FP. The wielder spins the whole body to slash foes in a wide circle, and an additional input adds two more spins. Small weapons spin quickly, while greatswords, spears, halberds and other large weapons use a slower, sweeping version. The skill cannot be parried. It is the weapon's default Ash of War, so another can take its place.

Suggested Build

Use its sweeping slashes to clear groups early, then tune it with an infusion as stats grow.
