The Horned Warrior's Greatsword is a Curved Greatsword in Elden Ring.

When to Use It

Shadow of the Erdtree. It is found around Enir-Ilim in the expansion, which opens only once Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood are beaten.

Upgrades

It takes Somber Smithing Stones rather than the common kind, one per level up to +10, and it keeps its own skill for good: no Ash of War will replace it and no affinity will re-cut its scaling.

Skill

Horn Calling: Storm costs 22 / 10 FP. Invokes tangled horns to cover the weapon's blade. Call a storm into the horns, then mow through enemies. Additional inputs allow for up to two follow-up attacks. It belongs to this weapon alone: no Ash of War will move it onto anything else, and nothing will replace it here.

Build

Its scaling runs Str at D, Dex at D and Fai at D, so Str, Dex and Fai are the stats worth levelling, and you need Str 19, Dex 16 and Fai 13 before you can lift it. Because the skill is its own, the build has to come to the weapon rather than the other way round.

Curved greatsword of the horned warriors, keepers of the tower. A heavy weapon made to bring the deft strength of the warriors to bear. The ornamental tangled horns allow the blade to serve as a medium for horn-calling.
