The Monk's Flameblade is a Curved Greatsword in Elden Ring.

When to Use It

Late game. It is found around Mountaintops of the Giants, far enough in that it is an end-of-run weapon rather than something to build towards.

Upgrades

Ordinary Smithing Stones carry it all the way to +25, and because it is not a Somber weapon it will also hold a grease or a weapon buff, which is a damage source the unique blades simply do not have.

Build

Its scaling runs Str at D and Dex at D, so Str and Dex are the stats worth levelling, and you need Str 18 and Dex 18 before you can lift it. Any Ash of War and any affinity will sit on it, so its scaling can be re-cut towards whichever stat you are already levelling.

Notes

Curved sword with a flickering flame motif. Wielded by the Fire Monks who came out from the Mountaintops of the Giants. The monks came to the land of Liurnia in pursuit of a fugitive who stole their fire.

How to Get Monk's Flameblade Guide

4% chance to drop from the Fire Monk enemy that wields it within the Giant-Conquering Hero's Grave.
This is the only spawn for this enemy in the game.
