Guard Of The North Sword is the old greatsword of the boss Lord Vorgoth, the Guard of the North. It deals cutting damage and adds crit chance and crit damage. The Blacksmith forges it from Celestium.

Damage By Level

Base damage grows with item level and with rarity. Two-handed weapons deal one and a half times as much as one-handed ones. The table shows the base damage before perks and gems. Each perk adds its own bonus on top.

Enhancements by Level

Each upgrade at the Blacksmith raises a copy by one level and unlocks the next enhancement. The levels count from the copy's own level, so a level 9 copy unlocks them at levels 10 to 14. Rarity sets how many upgrades a copy takes: one for common, up to five for legendary.

Vorgoth once trusted this blade. He threw it aside before the war and took a weapon better suited to his vile deeds. The sword still holds on to some sanity and light. It shines in the dark like the North Star. The Broken Guard Of The North Crown still sits on the throne in that room. It is the key item for Flame level 10.

How to Get Guard Of The North Sword Guide

The Blacksmith forges it from Celestium Bars, Steel Bars, Moonstone and Diamond Dust. Crafting needs a sheltered spot. Crafted copies are Rare, at item level 46. A copy of the sword also lies in the world at the Cromville Throne Room.

The Guard Of The North Sword is a lore weapon with a fixed spot in the world, the Cromville Throneroom in the Veilwater Basin. Once the sword is found, the Blacksmith can craft a Rare copy of it. That recipe calls for Celestium Bars, Steel Bars, Moonstone and Diamond Dust, so it belongs to the end of the game. More copies drop from warrior weapon chests in the Hollow Halls. Its item text ties the blade to the boss Lord Vorgoth, who cast it aside before the war for a weapon fit for darker deeds.
