A tamed Lox will follow you across the Plains and trample whatever gets in its way, but it will not carry you anywhere until you strap a Lox Saddle to its back.
How to Get It
You craft the saddle at a Workbench from Leather Scraps, Linen Thread and Black Metal. The real cost is a Spinning Wheel for the thread and enough Black Metal Scrap taken off Fulings and smelted down. You also need a Lox that is already tame. To tame one, drop Barley, Cloudberries or Flax within a few metres of it and stay clear while it feeds; a roof too close overhead will stop it eating at all. With both ready, put the saddle on your hotbar and use it on the animal. Hold shift while using it to take the saddle back off.
