The Black Metal Chest is the largest container in the storage row of the build menu, and you make it from ten boards, two lumps of tar and six bars of black metal. A late base is built around it. It has 1,000 durability and enough room to keep a whole trip's worth of ore, loot and food in one place instead of five wooden boxes.
How to Build It
The recipe is 10x wood, 2x tar and 6x black metal, and you build it within range of a workbench. Both late materials come from the Plains. Tar comes from the tar pits, and black metal comes from fuling scrap that has to go through a blast furnace before you can use it. Plan that trip before you plan the storeroom.
