Cut from the shells of the Seekers that hunt the Mistlands, the Carapace Arrow is the ammunition the Black Forge earns you. It deals 72 pierce damage. At 72 total damage it ranks 9th among ammunition, so it is a step on the ladder rather than the top of it. Pierce damage hurts the Tick and the Troll more than most things, which is the reason to carry it.
How to Craft
It is made at a level 1 Black Forge from:
- 4x Carapace, dropped by Seekers and Seeker Soldiers in the Mistlands.
- 2x Feathers, dropped by Crows and Gulls and found in chests in the Meadows.
- 8x Wood, chopped from any tree.

| Wood | All biomes | - | spawn Wood

When to Use It
It is mid-game ammunition. It needs Mistlands materials and a Black Forge, so it comes after Yagluth and the sea crossing beyond him. The Ashlands and the Deep North still lie past this one.
Properties
Its 72 pierce is the next step up from the Needle Arrow, and the chain continues with the Charred Arrow.
Its damage is added to the bow's before any other multiplier. Skill, quality and the triple-damage sneak bonus all apply on top, which is why upgrading your arrows is worth more than upgrading your bow.
Notes
- An arrow's damage is added to the bow's own damage before anything else is worked out, which is why the arrow, not the bow, decides the shot's damage type.
- Arrows only fit Bows and bolts only fit Crossbows.
- If you carry more than one kind of arrow, right-click a stack to choose which one is used.
