In the Mistlands you choose between Eitr-weave Robes and plate, and the Carapace Breastplate is the plate: Seeker shell laid over iron and finished at the Black Forge. It gives 32 armour, or 38 when fully upgraded, which ranks 2nd among chest pieces. Worn with the rest of the Carapace Armor set, it is part of a 96 armour rating, which turns a 100-damage hit into 26.
How to Craft
It is made at a level 1 Black Forge from:
- 20x Carapace, dropped by Seekers and Seeker Soldiers in the Mistlands.
- 3x Scale Hide, dropped by Hares in the Mistlands.
- 5x Iron, smelted from Scrap Iron in a Smelter.
- 4x Refined Eitr, refined from Sap and Soft Tissue at an Eitr Refinery.

When to Use It
It is mid-game armour. It needs Mistlands materials and a Black Forge, so it comes after Yagluth and the sea crossing beyond him. The Ashlands and the Deep North still lie past this one.
Upgrades

Properties
- -5% Movement speed
- Movement -5%: this is what wearing it costs you in speed, and in the cost of a dodge roll.
Notes
- It lowers movement speed by 5%, and heavy chest and leg penalties add up, so a full heavy set slows you by 10% before a shield slows you further.
- Armor lowers physical, fire, frost and lightning damage, but poison and spirit damage go straight through it.
- Each upgrade level adds 2 armor.
