Carapace Armor
This is the heavy set of the Mistlands, made from Carapace at a Black Forge, and the first set to pass 100 armour when upgraded.
It gives 96 armour at quality 1, rising to 114, for the usual -10% movement. All 3 pieces come from the Black Forge at level 1, so you can build the whole set at once rather than in stages.
A fresh set exactly matches a fully upgraded Padded Armor set on armour. What it does not match is the older set's durability, the one thing Padded keeps.
How to Craft
Every piece is made at a level 1 Black Forge from:
- 56x Carapace, dropped by Seekers and Seeker Soldiers in the Mistlands.
- 9x Scale Hide, dropped by Hares in the Mistlands.
- 2x Mandible, dropped by Seeker Soldiers in the Mistlands.
- 12x Refined Eitr, refined from Sap and Soft Tissue at an Eitr Refinery.
- 10x Iron, smelted from Scrap Iron in a Smelter.

When to Use It
It is mid-game armour. It needs Mistlands materials and a Black Forge, so it comes after Yagluth and the sea crossing beyond him. The Ashlands and the Deep North still lie past this one.

Notes
Carapace is the only main heavy armor material that can go through a Portal, so the set can be made at home instead of at a Mistlands outpost.
