| Role | Ripperdoc |
Viktor Vektor, or Vik for short, is a ripperdoc whose clinic sits behind Misty's Esoterica in Little China, Watson. Anyone in Watson who wants decent chrome goes to Vik's. He is patient, professional and generous, and he has let V run up debts more than once without a word of complaint. He is one of the few people who stand by V from the first job to the last.
Biography
The Boxer
Before he became a ripperdoc, Viktor was a heavyweight boxer from Watson and a member of the Night City Devils boxing club. He reached the final of the Watson boxing Grand Prix and finished second. The club shaped his sense of honour and his old street morals. He is one of the living legends of the city, a fact he has spent years trying to make people forget. He still follows boxing closely.
The Ripperdoc
Viktor's clinic is plain and practical, with none of the corporate logos and designer interiors of the richer clinics. A local fixer sends her mercs to him for the latest implants, and that keeps his chairs busy. He comes to know V and Jackie Welles well over their first months as mercs.
Before the Konpeki heist, V cannot afford the implants the job needs. Viktor fits a new Kiroshi optic and a better grip anyway and takes an IOU, calling it an investment in V coming back alive. If V later pays the debt, he tries to refuse the money.
After the Heist
When Takemura and Delamain bring V to the clinic after the heist, Viktor saves V's life. Once V has recovered, he explains the terrible truth: the Relic is slowly writing Johnny Silverhand over V's mind, and nothing he can do will stop it. From then on he can only watch over V's health and offer support.
Viktor comes to Jackie's ofrenda and leaves a pair of boxing gloves for him. He explains that Jackie was the first person he trained who knocked him out with a single punch. Later he works V's corner in the fight against the champion Razor Hugh, and he tells V that Razor's new abdominal implants are his weak spot.
In Phantom Liberty, Viktor tells V that Militech's offer of a cure is worth trying, because V needs every chance there is.

Personality
Viktor is calm, gruff and kind. He speaks little and never makes a fuss, and he treats his patients as people rather than customers. He sometimes offers a beer with the anaesthetic. He is a man of principle who believes in loyalty and honest work. He worries about V like a father, though he rarely says it outright, and he stays honest even when the news is bad.
Relationships
Misty Olszewski runs the shop in front of his clinic, and the two are close friends. He knew Jackie Welles well and trained him as a boxer. V is his patient and, over the story, something closer to family.
Jobs
Viktor fits V's first implants in The Ripperdoc, and his clinic is where V wakes up after the heist in Playing for Time. He also appears in Nocturne Op55N1 and Where is My Mind?, and in the Phantom Liberty ending Things Done Changed. His side jobs include Paid in Full, where V can pay off the debt, and the boxing line that ends in Beat on the Brat, where he works V's corner. Heroes brings him to Jackie's ofrenda.

Endings
Viktor is the one person who sends V a message in every ending. In most of them he asks V to stop by for a checkup and to let him know V is still alive. If V goes to the Arasaka Orbital Station, he asks whether Earth really looks so beautiful from space. In the ending where V dies, his message says how much everyone will miss the merc.
In the Phantom Liberty ending where V wakes from a long coma, corporate pressure has forced Viktor to work for Zetatech, which has taken over Misty's shop. He checks V over and has to confirm the bad news the doctors already gave.
Notes
Viktor sells cyberware like any other ripperdoc, and his clinic is one of the first places to buy implants. The Viktor's Clinic page covers the clinic itself.
A message between Viktor and a Scavenger named Blaze can be found both on his computer and in the Scavenger den where Sandra Dorsett is rescued.
