Overwatch is Panam Palmer's sniper rifle, an Iconic Techtronika SPT32 Grad. She hands it to V after the rescue of Saul in the Badlands. The rifle reloads faster than a standard Grad and has a custom silencer, so its huge single shots stay quiet. It is a rifle for stealth snipers. V can choose a target from a ridge, kill it with one headshot and stay hidden for the next one. Overwatch is worth carrying for the rest of the game in a Cool build that likes to fight from range. Overwatch is a mid-game reward from the side job Riders on the Storm. Panam gives it to V at the Ingalls Farm in the Badlands once Saul is safe.
Combat
Overwatch is a slow, hard-hitting sniper rifle with a very high headshot bonus and a long effective range. Every shot matters. The custom silencer keeps those shots quiet. V can kill enemies in a camp one by one from a distance without alerting the whole group.
The faster reload is the other Iconic bonus. A sniper rifle's weak point is the pause between shots, and Overwatch shortens it. The faster reload helps when a fight breaks out and V has to keep firing. Up close, its slow fire rate cannot keep up. V usually swaps to a sidearm when enemies get close.

Upgrades
Overwatch can be upgraded in the Upgrades tab of the crafting menu, one tier at a time. Each tier costs crafting components, which V gathers by looting, crafting and disassembling spare weapons. The rifle has to be in V's inventory, not the stash, to appear there. It is picked up in the middle of the story, so it needs regular upgrades to keep up with V's level.
The table shows what each tier step of Overwatch costs.
| Upgrade | Components | Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 to Tier 1+ | 75 Tier 1 components | - |

Character Builds
Overwatch works best in a Cool build. Focus unlocks Focus mode when aiming at full Stamina and adds headshot damage. Deep Breath slows time while Focus is active, which gives V more time to aim each shot. Deadeye adds more headshot damage. Nerves Of Tungsten-Steel guarantees crits on headshots and weak spots with sniper rifles while Deadeye is active. It also adds damage the further away the target is. Long Shot keeps full damage at any range during Deadeye. Rinse And Reload and High Noon both speed up the next reload after certain kills. Their effect adds to the Iconic reload bonus.
Stealth perks help V reach a good firing spot without being seen. Ninjutsu lets V sprint while crouched and adds movement speed. Feline Footwork speeds up crouched movement. For cyberware, Visual Cortex Support raises crit chance the further V is from the target. Kiroshi Cockatrice Optics add crit chance directly. Tyrosine Injector adds headshot damage after a takedown, so a stealth kill boosts the next sniper shot.
Select a Build
The build snipes from midair, and a pistol covers close fights. With the right cyberware most shots land as crits, and at long range every shot does.

Lore
Panam Palmer is a nomad of the Aldecaldos clan, and Saul Bright is the clan's leader. Riders on the Storm starts with a worried call from Panam some time after Life During Wartime. Saul and a patrol were ambushed, and Saul was taken by the Raffen Shiv, a gang of Badlands raiders. Panam asks for V's help and promises her rifle in return.
At the Aldecaldo camp, Mitch sends a drone over the raiders' base. V uses it to scout the gate, the perimeter, the vehicle tracks and the main building. Mitch also offers a motorbike for the escape. Panam and V drive to the camp in a van as a dust storm rolls in. V slips inside and finds Saul held in the cellar of the main building. V gets him out, either quietly or with a fight and a car chase. The three shelter from the storm at the abandoned Ingalls Farm. In the morning, Panam keeps her word and gives V the rifle. If V walks away and leaves Panam waiting too long, the job can fail. A failed job ends the rest of her story.
Notes
- Riders on the Storm can fail if V leaves Panam waiting too long. A failed job means no Overwatch and no further Panam jobs.
- Problem Solver, another Iconic weapon, drops from a raider in the same camp.
- Overwatch has its own display spot on the weapon wall in V's apartment.
- Overwatch is the Iconic variant of the Techtronika SPT32 Grad.
