About Death is a tutorial note in Elden Ring.
About Death is a tutorial entry about death and lost runes. It is added to the Info section of the inventory on its own. It can be read again at any time.
Use
The entry explains death and lost runes. After death, the player returns at the last Site of Grace visited. Carried runes are dropped where death happened and are lost for good after a second death before they are reclaimed.
"Upon dying, you will be revived at the last site of grace that you visited. You will drop any runes in your possession at the site of your death. If you die again before reclaiming those runes, they will be lost forever. The compass at the top of the screen indicates the direction of the lost runes."
