Elden Ring - Cookbooks

Cookbooks teach crafting recipes for arrows, pots, greases, meats and other consumables. Each recipe is learned the moment its cookbook is picked up. Every recipe needs the Crafting Kit and the right materials.

Crafting

Merchant Kalé sells the Crafting Kit at the Church of Elleh in Limgrave. The kit opens the Item Crafting menu anywhere. A learned recipe can be crafted at any time with the right materials. Throwing pots also need a Cracked Pot, and the stronger ritual pots need a Ritual Pot.

Hefty pots need a Hefty Cracked Pot. Aromatics and spraymists need a Perfume Bottle. Cookbook recipes are kept in New Game Plus.

Merchants

Merchant Kalé sells Missionary's Cookbook [1], Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook [1] and Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook [2]. Patches sells Missionary's Cookbook [2]. Nomadic Merchants in Limgrave, Liurnia of the Lakes, Caelid, the Altus Plateau and Mt. Gelmir each sell cookbooks. The Abandoned Merchant on the Siofra River sells Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook [17] and Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook [18].

The Hermit Merchants on the Ainsel River and in the eastern Mountaintops of the Giants each sell one. Pidia, Carian Servant sells Glintstone Craftsman's Cookbook [7] at Caria Manor. If a seller dies, the Twin Maiden Husks stock the cookbook once they receive that seller's bell bearing.

Cookbook Series

Nomadic Warrior's cookbooks cover bone arrows, cured meats and basic pots. Armorer's cookbooks lean on fire, with Fire Grease, Firebone Arrows and the Redmane Fire Pot. Glintstone Craftsman's cookbooks teach magic and frost items such as the Magic Pot, Freezing Grease and Academy Magic Pot. Missionary's cookbooks teach holy items such as Holy Grease, the Sacred Order Pot and the Grace Mimic.

Ancient Dragon Apostle's cookbooks teach lightning items such as Lightning Grease, the Lightning Pot and the Ancient Dragonbolt Pot. Perfumer's cookbooks teach aromatics and spraymists. Fevor's cookbooks teach sleep items, and Frenzied's cookbooks teach Frenzied Flame items.

Best Uses

Armorer's Cookbook [1] gives Fire Grease early, from a camp northeast of the Agheel Lake North Site of Grace. Glintstone Craftsman's Cookbook [4] teaches the Magic Pot and Shield Grease. Ancient Dragon Apostle's Cookbook [2] teaches the Lightning Pot. Missionary's Cookbook [4] teaches Holy Grease and holy arrows.

Perfumer's Cookbook [3] teaches the Ironjar Aromatic. Cure recipes come from several books, such as Neutralizing Boluses in Armorer's Cookbook [2] and Stanching Boluses in Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook [7].

Realm of Shadow

Greater Potentate's cookbooks teach the hefty pots. They lie on corpses across the Gravesite Plain, the Scadu Altus and the Ancient Ruins of Rauh. Friendly Forager Brood hand over the Forager Brood cookbooks, which teach pickled livers and other foods. Fire Knight's cookbooks teach Messmerfire Grease and the Fire Coil.

Battlefield Priest's cookbooks teach Golden Grease, Festive Grease, Golden Vow and the Sunwarmth Stone. Igon's cookbooks teach Dragon Communion Grease, the Dragon Communion Harpoon and Dragon Communion Flesh. Mad Craftsman's cookbooks teach Frenzied Flame pots.

Pitfalls

Moore must be alive for the Forager Brood to hand over their cookbooks. Some cookbooks sit behind imp statue seals, such as Nomadic Warrior's Cookbook [9] in Tombsward Catacombs. Perfumer's Cookbook [3] lies in a sealed room in the Auriza Side Tomb, reached through a teleport chest. Sir Gideon Ofnir, the All-Knowing gives Fevor's Cookbook [3] only after Mohgwyn Palace has been reached.
