Elden Ring - Crafting Materials

Crafting materials are the plants, insects, animal parts and stones gathered across the Lands Between and the Realm of Shadow. Combined through crafting, they become pots, greases, arrows, bolts and other consumables. A steady stock of the right materials keeps cures, buffs and throwing items ready for every fight.

Gathering

Crafting opens up after buying the Crafting Kit from Merchant Kalé at the Church of Elleh in Limgrave. Cookbooks found in the world or sold by merchants add new recipes to the crafting menu. Materials come from the ground, from defeated enemies and from merchants. Many plants and insects picked in the open grow back after a rest at a Site of Grace.

Some materials never come back once taken, such as the Aeonian Butterflies of Caelid and the Dragon's Calorbloom of the Jagged Peak. Rare materials often lie on corpses in fixed spots rather than growing in the open.

Bell Bearings

Bell bearings are offered to the Twin Maiden Husks at the Roundtable Hold to add items to their shop. The Meat Peddler's Bell Bearing unlocks Sliver of Meat, Lump of Flesh and Turtle Neck Meat. The Bone Peddler's Bell Bearing unlocks Thin Beast Bones and Hefty Beast Bone. The Herbalist's Bell Bearing unlocks Rada Fruit with no limit on stock.

The Mushroom-Seller's Bell Bearing [1] unlocks Mushroom and Redflesh Mushroom, and the Mushroom-Seller's Bell Bearing [2] unlocks Toxic Mushroom and Whiteflesh Mushroom. The Greasemonger's Bell Bearing unlocks Root Resin and Knot Resin. The Moldmonger's Bell Bearing unlocks Fly Mold. Once a bell bearing has been handed over, the new stock carries into the next journey.

Farming

Discovery raises the chance of finding items on defeated enemies. Each point of Arcane adds Discovery, and the Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot raises it for a short time. A respawning dragon south of the Dragon Temple Lift Site of Grace drops several Gravel Stones on every kill. Black Pyreflies respawn right beside the Main Gate Cross Site of Grace.

The deer and boars beside the Viaduct Minor Tower Site of Grace are an easy source of Beast Horn. Glintslab Fireflies respawn along the lake by the Cathedral of Manus Metyr Site of Grace.

Plants and Flowers

Item descriptions often name the land where a plant grows. Golden Sunflowers cluster around the Minor Erdtrees, and Shadow Sunflowers bloom near the Scadutree. Fire Blossoms and Rimed Rowa grow on the Mountaintops of the Giants. Rimed Crystal Buds grow in the coldest regions, while Caria Manor holds an early supply on corpses.

Dewgems grow beside water in the Realm of Shadow and glow at night. Yellow and red Fulgurblooms grow where lightning strikes, and the red kind blooms on the Jagged Peak.

Animal Parts

Animal parts come mostly from hunting creatures rather than picking them up. Albinauric Bloodclots drop from the Albinaurics of Liurnia of the Lakes. Beast Horn comes from the horned beasts of the Realm of Shadow. Spider-scorpions drop Scorpion Liver, and man-flies drop Fly Mold.

The lampreys at the finger ruins carry Pearlescent Scales.

Realm of Shadow

The Realm of Shadow has its own set of materials for new pots, greases and pickled livers. Rada Fruit and Knot Resin grow all over the realm, especially on the Gravesite Plain. Redflesh and Whiteflesh Mushrooms serve as the meaty filling for the hefty pots. Knot Resin is the base for the new greases, such as Messmerfire Grease and Dragon Communion Grease.

Moore, met at the Main Gate Cross Site of Grace, sells small stocks of several of these materials. Thiollier, at the Pillar Path Cross Site of Grace, sells Toxic Mosslings.
