Elden Ring - Info

Info items are paintings, notes, letters, maps and tutorials kept in the Info section of the inventory. Many of them point to hidden rewards, secret paths or the next step of a questline. They cannot be sold or stored.

Paintings

Each painting is the memory of a work by a wandering artist. The painting shows a real view somewhere in the Lands Between or the Realm of Shadow. Standing at the exact spot where the view was painted reveals the painter's spirit. The spirit only becomes visible up close and fades once approached.

It leaves a reward on the ground, such as the Warhawk Ashes, the Harp Bow or the Rock Heart. The "Prophecy" and "Flightless Bird" paintings may have had their names swapped, since each reward fits the other title better.

Riddles

The Mirage Riddle marks the phantom crests that must be touched to reveal the Mirage Rise. Once every crest is broken, the rise holds the Unseen Blade and Unseen Form sorceries. Sellia's Secret comes from Sage Gowry in return for the Unalloyed Gold Needle. It tells of the braziers on the towers of Sellia, Town of Sorcery.

Lighting them opens sealed rooms and the door to the Nox Swordstress and Nox Monk.

Notes

Most notes are sold by nomadic and isolated merchants for a small sum of runes. Many give a combat tip, such as killing a demi-human leader first or using poison on land squirts. Others point to a secret place, like the hidden cave in Sellia or Seluvis's cellar. A few notes are found on corpses instead of bought.

Note: Miquella's Needle and Note: The Lord of Frenzied Flame both tie into the Lord of Frenzied Flame ending.

Letters and Maps

The Volcano Manor letters name Tarnished to hunt and mark their invasion signs on the map. Completing each hunt earns rewards from Tanith, Patches or Bernahl and unlocks the next letter. Simple maps like the Meeting Place Map and the Weathered Map lead to a single hidden item. The Knifeprint Clue from Fia points to the Black Knife Catacombs.

Rogier's Letter and Zorayas's Letter close out the stories of those characters.

Realm of Shadow

Miquella's followers leave cross messages at the golden crosses for others on his trail. Leda's messages point to the tower sealed by shadow and the need for a special flame. Dane's message names that flame as Messmer's Kindling, which burns the Sealing Tree in the Ancient Ruins of Rauh. The Hornsent's Cross Map and New Cross Map mark the crosses across the land.

Count Ymir's Ruins Maps lead one by one to the hallowed finger ruins. Note: Sealed Spiritsprings explains that toppling stacked stones breaks a spiritspring's seal.

Tutorials

Tutorial entries start with About and explain one game mechanic each. They are added automatically the first time a mechanic comes up. Many are collected in the Cave of Knowledge, which teaches the controls and basic combat. Others arrive when picking up a key tool, such as the Whetstone Knife or the Spirit Calling Bell.

Every tutorial can be read again from the inventory at any time.
