Late game. It is found around Crumbling Farum Azula, far enough in that it is an end-of-run weapon rather than something to build towards.

Why Players Pick It

The Strength outlier: the only curved sword with C Str at +0, reaching A Str on Heavy at 237 attack rating (AR) and 107 poise damage, the highest stagger figure in the class. Requirements invert the class norm at Str 13 / Dex 11.

Upgrades

Ordinary Smithing Stones carry it all the way to +25, and because it is not a Somber weapon it will also hold a grease or a weapon buff, which is a damage source the unique blades simply do not have.

Build

Its scaling runs Str at C and Dex at E, so Str is the stat worth levelling, and you need Str 13 and Dex 11 before you can lift it. Any Ash of War and any affinity will sit on it, so its scaling can be re-cut towards whichever stat you are already levelling.
