Gangs
The gangs of Night City fill the space the police leave behind. Some guard their own neighbourhood like a family, others sell drugs, bodies or protection to anyone who pays. Crossing the wrong one in the wrong district is one of the quickest ways to die in the city.
Turf
Most gangs hold a part of the city as their own. The Tyger Claws rule Japantown and parts of Watson, the Valentinos rule the barrios of Heywood, 6th Street runs Santo Domingo and Maelstrom holds the industrial north of Watson. The Voodoo Boys keep to Pacifica, and BARGHEST guards the walls of Dogtown. The Animals, the Mox and the Scavengers have no turf of their own and turn up wherever there is money.

Ways of Life
Each gang has its own look and its own creed. Maelstrom worships chrome and hides behind frightening faceplates. The Tyger Claws work like the Yakuza, with glowing tattoos, fast bikes and katanas. The Valentinos wear gold and pray to Santa Muerte, and 6th Street dresses like soldiers. The Voodoo Boys are netrunners who probe the Blackwall, and the Animals reject chrome for muscle and steroids. The Mox protect sex workers and outcasts, while the Scavengers are not a gang so much as a trade in stolen bodies.
Rivalries
The gangs are rarely at peace. The Valentinos and 6th Street fight a long war over Heywood and Vista del Rey. The Mox were born from riots against the Tyger Claws and still distrust them. The Voodoo Boys and the Animals are old rivals, and in Dogtown the Voodoo Boys and the Scavengers deal with BARGHEST as often as they fight it. Maelstrom is split between the followers of its old leader and the man who overthrew him.
Notes
Each gang page lists the members, the places and the jobs tied to it. Fixers hand out many gigs that set mercs against one gang or another, and Regina Jones, Wakako Okada, Padre and El Capitan each deal with the gangs of their own district.
