The Harpy is a flying monster with the upper body of a woman and the wings and talons of a bird. It is one of the most common creatures in Vermund, circling roads, cliffs and ruins, and its song can send a whole party to sleep.
Harpy Lore
Harpies are described as eerie creatures of the sky that hang in the air above their prey, waiting for the moment to strike. Their bewitching screeches lull those who hear them into slumber, leaving them open to the creature's sharp talons.
How to Beat the Harpy
The real threat of a Harpy is its song, which puts anyone caught in it to sleep and leaves them helpless against the rest of the flock. Between songs, Harpies hover overhead and dive down to rake at the party with their talons.
Where to Find the Harpy
Harpies are found all over the wilds of Vermund, including the Guerco Mountain Road, the Forgotten Ruins, the main road west of Borderwatch Outpost and the camp at the Gathering of Beasts. They circle the road south of the Riverside Ruins and haunt the cliffs on the way to the Cavern of the Forsaken. They swoop over the approach to the Ancient Battleground, harry travellers in the Strange Corridor and nest in the open part of Twilight Cave.

Harpy Quests
In Dragon's Wake takes the Arisen along the roads around Melve, and flocks of Harpies swoop on the party during the journey.
Ordeals of a New Recruit is taken up at the Borderwatch Outpost. Accardo, a raw recruit, has been posted where Harpies flock just south of the outpost, and the Arisen must drive off the Harpies attacking him before returning to report.
