The Bloodstained Dagger is a Dagger in Elden Ring.
When to Use It
Early game. It is found around Limgrave, in the opening stretch of a run, so it is one of the first real upgrades you can carry.
Upgrades
- Upgrades with ordinary Smithing Stones to +25.
- Can be buffed with a grease or a spell, which a Somber weapon cannot.
Build
It scales Str C, Dex E, so Str is where the levels go.
- Requires Str 9, Dex 12.
- Takes any Ash of War and any affinity, so its scaling can be re-cut towards whichever stat you are levelling.
- Causes blood loss buildup (38), without any infusion needed.
Critical Damage
Critical 110. A backstab, or a riposte after a guard break, is multiplied by this, where 100 is the baseline most weapons carry.
- 2 weapons of its class reach higher, topping out at 140.
- It pays for getting behind an enemy or breaking their stance rather than trading hits in the open.
Notes
- Dagger with a bloodstained blade. Afflicts targets with blood loss.
- As blood darkened the dagger through repeated slashing and stabbing, its blade only grew sharper and harder.
Where to Find
- 2% drop rate from Fierce Demi-Humans aka Demi-Human Chiefs.
- One can point asleep next to the bridge west of the South of the Lookout Tower Site of Grace.
