The Wakizashi is a Dagger in Elden Ring. It shows up mid-run, in Caelid.

The Wakizashi is a short sword unique to the warriors of the Land of Reeds, an auxiliary blade that the demonic swordsman Okina wielded in his left hand beside a full katana. It lies in a locked cell in Gaol Cave in Caelid, behind a Stonesword Key door. It deals the highest damage of any dagger thanks to its base attack, builds blood loss, and has the best guard boost of its class. In the left hand it counts as a katana for dual wielding, using the katana paired moveset with a katana in the right hand and cheaper paired attacks. It suits a Dexterity samurai who wants an off-hand blade that also brings Parry.

The Wakizashi is the second hardest hitting dagger at 230 physical at max upgrade, behind only the Cinquedea, with 38 innate blood loss buildup and an 18 guard boost, the joint best in the class. It also powerstances with Katanas, which lets a katana build add a fast bleeding off-hand.

How to Get Wakizashi Guide

Found on a corpse inside a locked cell in Gaol Cave, located in Caelid.
The cave requires one Stonesword Key to access.
From the lever that unlocks all the cages it can be found by taking a right then a left, and then it's one of three items in the second cage on the left.

Skill

Quickstep costs 3 FP. The wielder performs a quick sidestep in any direction with a burst of invulnerability frames, a little shorter on repeated uses. Stepping sideways while locked on circles around the target, and an attack right after the step comes out as a rolling or backstep attack depending on the direction. It covers more ground with a light equip load and costs very little FP. It is the weapon's default Ash of War, so another can take its place.
