The Blade of Calling is a Dagger in Elden Ring.

When to Use It

Mid game. It is found around Altus Plateau, which opens up past Stormveil Castle, so it arrives once a build has taken shape.

Upgrades

It takes Somber Smithing Stones rather than the common kind, one per level up to +10, and it keeps its own skill for good: no Ash of War will replace it and no affinity will re-cut its scaling.

Skill

Blade of Gold costs 17 FP. Leap into the air, charging the armament with golden flames that are then shot at the enemy as a single, blade-like projectile. Inflicts holy damage. It belongs to this weapon alone: no Ash of War will move it onto anything else, and nothing will replace it here.

Build

Its scaling runs Str at D, Dex at D and Fai at C, so Fai is the stat worth levelling, and you need Str 6, Dex 13 and Fai 15 before you can lift it. Because the skill is its own, the build has to come to the weapon rather than the other way round.

Critical Damage

Critical 110. A backstab, or a riposte after a guard break, is multiplied by this, where 100 is the baseline most weapons carry.

Loot: Forbidden Lands Hidden within a room that you can only reach during the elevator ride that leads down to the Forbidden Lands grace, alongside the Official's Attire.
Jump from the southwestern part of the elevator to a doorway just above the bottom floor.
