The Fire Knight's Shortsword is a Dagger in Elden Ring.

The Fire Knight's Shortsword is the slender, flame-shaped blade of the Fire Knights, blessed with a flame incantation so that further flame imbuement greatly increases its power. It drops from the Fire Knights who wield paired shortswords in the Specimen Storehouse of Shadow Keep. It moves like a quick dagger and shares the unique double-slash heavy attack of the Erdsteel Dagger, Black Knife and Blade of Calling. It deals fire damage alongside physical damage, scales with Strength, Dexterity and Faith, leans toward Dexterity, and has the strongest Intelligence scaling of any dagger on the Magic and Cold affinities. It suits a fire-themed Faith character or anyone wanting a fast secondary dagger.

Skill

Quickstep costs 3 FP. The wielder performs a quick sidestep in any direction with a burst of invulnerability frames, a little shorter on repeated uses. Stepping sideways while locked on circles around the target, and an attack right after the step comes out as a rolling or backstep attack depending on the direction. It covers more ground with a light equip load and costs very little FP. It is the weapon's default Ash of War, so another can take its place.

Build

Keep it as a fast dagger or secondary swap, buffed with fire and used for quick double-slash heavy attacks and status pressure.
