Leonine Misbegotten is a great boss in Elden Ring.
The Leonine Misbegotten is a lion-maned beast warrior who leads the revolt at Castle Morne in the Weeping Peninsula. It waits on the shore at the far end of the castle, where it seized the treasured sword of Morne. The fight is fast and wild, with long leaps and sweeping greatsword combos. Castellan Edgar can join the fight once Irina's Letter reaches him.
Lore
The Leonine Misbegotten is a feral, bestial warrior with claws, small feathered wings, a serpentine tail and a thick red lion's mane. It swings a heavy iron greatsword with frightening speed.
The misbegotten are held to be a punishment for contact with the Crucible. From birth they are treated as slaves, or worse.
The mistreated misbegotten servants of Castle Morne rose up and seized the fortress from their masters. This one went after the Grafted Blade Greatsword, the treasured sword of Morne.
Castellan Edgar stayed behind as commander. Even if the castle fell, he swore to keep the treasured sword out of the wrong hands.

Attacks
- Lunging Slash: it drops to all fours, raises its haunches and leaps in with a slash; roll as it hangs in the air, then again for the follow up.
- Running Slash: it sprints in with the sword behind its shoulder; roll as the hilt passes its head.
- Sideswipe: it runs past on all fours and slashes in passing; roll and prepare for another.
- Barbaric Roar: it lifts its arms and roars, hurting anything close and making its eyes glow red; walk or roll away.
- Hop Slice: a short hop and a straight downward cut; roll to either side.
- Double Swipe: two swipes with its left paw while it closes in; roll back twice.
- Stamp Sweep: it stomps, then spins with two full sword sweeps; walk out of range and punish the long recovery.
- Slice and Leap: a cut followed by a high leap that drives the sword into the ground; roll back, then strike as it lands.
Tactics
- Deliver Irina's Letter to Edgar beforehand to unlock his summon sign beside the fog gate.
- Dodge into its attacks rather than away, since its swings reach far.
- Interrupt its long wind ups with jumping or charged heavy attacks; it staggers easily.
- Use the Barricade Shield skill to bounce its blows off a shield and guard counter.
- Punish the Hop Slice, Lunging Slash and Slice and Leap during their recoveries.
- Back away to a safe distance before drinking a flask.

The skill makes almost all of its attacks rebound, which opens guard counters and stance breaks.
