The Grafted Blade Greatsword is a Colossal Sword in Elden Ring.

When to Use It

Early game. It is found around Weeping Peninsula, in the opening stretch of a run, so it is one of the first real upgrades you can carry.

Upgrades

It takes Somber Smithing Stones rather than the common kind, one per level up to +10, and it keeps its own skill for good: no Ash of War will replace it and no affinity will re-cut its scaling.

Skill

Oath of Vengeance costs 20 FP. Swear an oath upon the greatsword to avenge the clan, temporarily raising all attributes for a certain duration. While the oath's effects are active, poise will also be increased. It belongs to this weapon alone: no Ash of War will move it onto anything else, and nothing will replace it here.

Build

Its scaling runs Str at C and Dex at E, so Str is the stat worth levelling, and you need Str 40 and Dex 14 before you can lift it. Because the skill is its own, the build has to come to the weapon rather than the other way round.

Notes

The storied sword of Castle Morne. A revenger's weapon, it is burdened with oceans of anger and regret. One of the legendary armaments. A lone surviving champion from a country now vanished was so determined to continue fighting that he claimed the swords of an entire clan of warriors.
