The Winged Scythe is a Reaper in Elden Ring.

When to Use It

Early game. It is found around Weeping Peninsula, in the opening stretch of a run, so it is one of the first real upgrades you can carry.

Why Players Pick It

It 'a great early game weapon for Faith builds, especially DEX/FTH builds'. It sits in a chest in the Tombsward Ruins cellar in the Weeping Peninsula, needs only 16 Str / 16 Dex / 24 Fai, and carries 104 holy at +0. Its skill Angel's Wings prevents a hit player from using their Flask of Crimson Tears for 30 seconds. Somber, no infusion, no buffs, and the lowest physical of any class leader here at 213.

Upgrades

It takes Somber Smithing Stones rather than the common kind, one per level up to +10, and it keeps its own skill for good: no Ash of War will replace it and no affinity will re-cut its scaling.

Skill

Angel's Wings costs 17 FP. Jump and imbue the wing-blade of the armament with light, then deliver a slashing attack on the enemy. The white wings impede recovery actions using a flask of tears. It belongs to this weapon alone: no Ash of War will move it onto anything else, and nothing will replace it here.

Build

Its scaling runs Str at E, Dex at D and Fai at D, so Dex and Fai are the stats worth levelling, and you need Str 16, Dex 16 and Fai 24 before you can lift it. Because the skill is its own, the build has to come to the weapon rather than the other way round. It also causes blood loss buildup (55) on its own, with no infusion needed.

Notes

Sacred scythe resembling a pair of white wings. Deals holy damage. According to pagan belief, white-winged maidens are said to be Death's gentle envoys.
