The Halo Scythe is a Reaper in Elden Ring.
When to Use It
Mid game. It is found around Caelid, which opens up past Stormveil Castle, so it arrives once a build has taken shape.
Why Players Pick It
The only Reaper with a ranged option. Describes Miquella's Ring of Light as chain-castable as long as FP and stamina hold, and notes that after the 1.07 buff the blade itself also connects at close range for about 55% of a light attack plus bleed buildup, on top of the projectile. The limitation is also documented there: the halos stop tracking once the projectile reaches full speed. 2% drop from scythe-wielding Cleanrot Knights; Somber, fixed skill.
Upgrades
It takes Somber Smithing Stones rather than the common kind, one per level up to +10, and it keeps its own skill for good: no Ash of War will replace it and no affinity will re-cut its scaling.
Skill
Miquella's Ring of Light costs 11 FP. Summon Miquella's shining halo and fire it forwards. Can be fired in rapid succession. It belongs to this weapon alone: no Ash of War will move it onto anything else, and nothing will replace it here.
Build
Its scaling runs Str at D, Dex at D and Fai at E, so Str and Dex are the stats worth levelling, and you need Str 13, Dex 16 and Fai 15 before you can lift it. Because the skill is its own, the build has to come to the weapon rather than the other way round. It also causes blood loss buildup (55) on its own, with no infusion needed.
Notes
War scythe of the Cleanrot Knights who fought alongside Malenia, Blade of Miquella. This was the weapon of commanders in Malenia's army, and the half-halo blade deals holy damage.
