The Obsidian Lamina is a Reaper in Elden Ring. It belongs to Shadow of the Erdtree and waits in Enir-Ilim.

The Obsidian Lamina is the signature weapon of the Pureblood Knight Ansbach, a viciously keen and slender scythe whose obsidian edge relies on skill alone to rend foes. It is taken from Ansbach's body by the arena entrance after Promised Consort Radahn is defeated, provided his questline was followed to the end. It shares the regular Scythe's double-slash strong attack, its light attacks ignore half of a block's damage negation, and it builds blood loss with every hit. Its unique skill, Dynastic Sickleplay, is a directional backstep with invincibility frames that can lead into an advancing upward slash and then a three-swing combo ending in a leap back. It suits an endgame Dexterity and Arcane bleed build.

Stats

The Obsidian Lamina has the highest innate bleed among reapers at 68, at only 6.5 weight with C Dexterity and D Arcane scaling. It shares the Scythe's double-slash heavy attack, so it applies that bleed twice per heavy. It arrives at the very end of Sir Ansbach's questline, which in practice makes it a New Game Plus weapon.

How to Get Obsidian Lamina Guide

It lies with Sir Ansbach's belongings near the arena entrance at the top of Enir-Ilim once Promised Consort Radahn is defeated and his questline is complete.

  1. Talk to Sir Ansbach at the Main Gate Cross Site of Grace in the Gravesite Plain.
  2. Once Miquella's charm has been broken, talk to him again; he moves to the Shadow Keep.
  3. Find him at the Storehouse, First Floor Site of Grace and give him the Secret Rite Scroll.
  4. When Needle Knight Leda turns on him, use the gold summon sign near the Storehouse, First Floor Site of Grace to defend him.
  5. Defeat Promised Consort Radahn at the top of Enir-Ilim.
  6. Collect the Obsidian Lamina from Ansbach's belongings near the arena entrance.

Skill

Dynastic Sickleplay costs 7 / 9 / 9 FP. The wielder backsteps with a window of invulnerability, and the direction held decides which way the step goes. Pressing strong attack follows with an advancing upward slash, and pressing it again adds spinning swipes that bring the weapon back down. The follow-ups cost extra FP and can be parried. It is exclusive to this weapon.

"A finessed evasive skill that creates space to maneuver. Inputs dictate direction of the backstep. Follow up with strong attack to perform an advancing upward slash. Press strong attack again to bring the weapon back down."

Suggested Build

Power-stanced with a Blood-infused Scythe or Grave Scythe in the left hand, it evades with Dynastic Sickleplay and counters with the heavy follow-up for bleed and stance damage.

Stats Dexterity to 80, Arcane to 45, Vigor 60, Endurance 30, Faith 25 for buff incantations, Strength 14 to carry a Scythe in the off hand
Affinity Cannot be infused; it keeps its own scaling.
Talismans Shard of Alexander, Lord of Blood's Exultation, Two-Headed Turtle Talisman, Rotten Winged Sword Insignia
Pairs With Scythe, Dragon Communion Seal, Ansbach's Longbow

Notes

"Signature weapon of the Pureblood Knight Ansbach. A viciously keen and slender scythe made for combat. The obsidian edge relies not upon trickery to fulfil its violent purpose: through skill alone the wielder can rip and rend through foes, sowing blossoms of red upon the battlefield."
