An axe found atop the skull of a giant dragon skeleton. Legends say it was used to slay the mother dragon, but it wasn't lodged inside her cranium when you found it. That's probably for the best. Mothers have enough headaches already.

Dragonsbane is a one-handed axe that deals cutting and Shroud damage. It adds life leech, crit chance and crit damage.

Damage By Level

Base damage grows with item level and with rarity. The table shows the base damage before perks and gems. Each perk adds its own bonus on top.

Enhancements by Level

Each upgrade at the Blacksmith raises a copy by one level and unlocks the next enhancement. The levels count from the copy's own level, so a level 9 copy unlocks them at levels 10 to 14. Rarity sets how many upgrades a copy takes: one for common, up to five for legendary.

Lore

How to Get Dragonsbane Guide

Dragonsbane rests in a nest on top of the giant dragon skull at Skeleton Excavation Camp "Ony" in the Albaneve Summits. The camp lies north-east of the Albaneve Summits Ancient Spire. Getting the axe means climbing up the skull itself. Ony's Map Piece for The Dragons' Last Breath lies in the same nest, so one climb collects both. It is a lore weapon that can also be crafted.

Notes

Once Dragonsbane is found, the Blacksmith can craft a Rare copy of it. The current recipe uses Celestium Bars, Flammable Goo, Obsidian Dust, Tropical Wood and Gold Dust, and it needs a sheltered spot. Copies also drop from warrior weapon chests in the Hollow Halls. Its first perk is health leech, so even a common copy heals with every hit. The axe's text jokes that it was used to slay the mother dragon, though it was found lying on top of the skull instead.
