| Class | Weapon Mod |
Big Mag is a weapon mod that makes a gun's magazine bigger. It works on assault rifles, submachine guns and light machine guns. V fires longer before each reload. The price is a slower reload when the magazine finally runs dry. It suits players who would rather keep shooting than reload often. Big Mag is available from the early game, since weapon vendors can stock its lower tiers.
Effect
Big Mag raises magazine capacity by a percentage. The bonus is +15% at Tier 1 and grows to +55% at Tier 5. The reload penalty stays the same at every tier. Each reload takes 20% longer.
The larger the base magazine, the more rounds the bonus adds. A light machine gun gains more extra rounds than a small submachine gun.
How to Get Big Mag Guide
- Check weapon vendors, which sell lower tiers.
- With Phantom Liberty, open airdrops in Dogtown for higher tiers.
- Combine a matching pair at the crafting menu to raise its tier.

Upgrades
Big Mag comes in Tiers 1 to 5. A matching pair of the same mod and tier can be combined at the crafting menu into one copy a tier higher. A mod can only go on a weapon of the same tier or higher. Once installed in a weapon, the mod stays in that weapon.
Character Builds
Big Mag suits automatic weapons that spend whole magazines in one fight. Spray And Pray in the Reflexes tree lowers the Stamina cost of hip fire with assault rifles and submachine guns. Bullet Ballet in the Body tree cuts bullet spread while moving with light machine guns, heavy machine guns and shotguns.
Better Half adds Crit Chance once half the magazine is spent. A larger magazine gives that bonus more shots to work with. Focus Fire is another mod for the same weapon classes, and it tightens hip fire spread.
