The Guillotine is Budget Arms' plastic submachine gun, a cheap way to spray a room with bullets in Night City. Its own description admits it is only slightly better than bringing a knife to a gunfight. In practice, it is a fast-firing Power SMG that tears through gang members at close range. It takes a muzzle attachment and has two mod slots. It can be set up as a quiet ambush gun or a loud room-clearer. The Phantom Liberty Iconic Guillotine x-MOD2 is built on it. The Guillotine is an early buy at the 2nd Amendment shop in Megabuilding H10, Little China. Every 2nd Amendment store keeps it in stock.
Combat
The Guillotine fires in full auto at a high rate. Submachine guns have the lowest damage per shot of any gun type, but they make up for it with fire rate. The Guillotine is the same, so it wins by firing many bullets rather than by single hits.
Its Power rounds can ricochet off walls. In a tight room, ricochets help a burst hit enemies hiding behind furniture. The muzzle attachment changes how the Guillotine works. A silencer lets V start a fight from the shadows and take out a guard or two before anyone reacts. A muzzle brake cuts recoil for longer sprays. Either way, the Guillotine is a close-range gun. It is best used when enemies push forward.

Character Builds
The Guillotine uses the Reflexes tree. Mind Over Matter lowers recoil while aiming. Ready, Rested, Reloaded lowers the Stamina cost of shooting and speeds up reloads. Sharpshooter gains a stack with each hit. Shoot To Chill adds armor penetration for each stack. Practice Makes Perfect adds crit chance and crit damage for each stack. Submachine Fun makes the swap to an SMG faster and reloads the gun on the swap. It also adds fire rate for a short time.
For cyberware, Immovable Force and Shock Absorber reduce recoil. The Ballistic Coprocessor raises the ricochet chance of Power weapons. A gun that fires this fast gets the most out of it.
Its mod slots take Power and SMG mods. Swiss Cheese adds armor penetration, but each shot costs more Stamina. Pyro turns part of the damage into Thermal damage with a chance to Burn. Critochet adds crit chance to ricochets. Ready Steady cuts recoil, and more so from cover. Better Half adds crit chance for the second half of the magazine.
Select a Build
The build plays as run and gun, shooting while sprinting, sliding and dashing. Air Dashes and Tailwind keep the character moving through a fight. Kerenzikov slows time when aiming during a Dash, so the shots stay precise on the move.

Lore
Budget Arms runs the 2nd Amendment chain of gun shops and shooting ranges. The Guillotine is one of its main products, sold in those shops alongside the Carnage shotgun. The Little China branch in Megabuilding H10 is run by Robert Wilson.
The Iconic Guillotine x-MOD2 lies in the Longshore Stacks of Dogtown, on a stack of shipping containers next to an old mining truck. It keeps the base gun's full-auto fire and adds two guaranteed mod slots and better handling.
Notes
- Guillotine x-MOD2 is the Iconic variant of the Guillotine.
