The M251s Ajax is Militech's fully automatic assault rifle, a durable, simple Power weapon. It is a dependable main gun for a Reflexes build that wants steady automatic fire at any stage of the story. Its in-game line promises that, come rain or shine, it'll weather it out. It is also the base rifle for the Iconic rifles Moron Labe and Pit Bull. Weapon shops such as the ones in Arroyo and Rancho Coronado sell the Ajax, and enemies drop it. It is available through the whole story.
Combat
The Ajax fires on full auto from a thirty-round magazine. Holding the trigger keeps a steady stream going, and the assault rifle perks reward exactly that kind of long fire. As a Power weapon, its bullets can ricochet off walls and floors. A ricochet can hit enemies who duck behind low cover.
The rifle takes both a scope and a muzzle attachment. A suppressor makes it quieter for stealth, and a longer scope helps at range. Sharpshooter gains a stack with each hit. Shoot To Chill and Practice Makes Perfect give armor penetration, crit chance and crit damage for each stack. A long burst therefore grows stronger as it goes.

Crafting Spec

Upgrades
The Ajax gets stronger by tier. Higher tiers turn up in shops and on enemies as V levels up. A crafted rifle matches a bought one of the same tier. The crafting spec lets V build an Ajax at the current tier from crafting components.
Character Builds
The Ajax uses the Reflexes tree. Ready, Rested, Reloaded lowers the Stamina cost of shooting and speeds up reloads at high Stamina. Mind Over Matter reduces recoil while aiming. Tunnel Vision adds effective range and accuracy. Sharpshooter builds the stacks that Shoot To Chill and Practice Makes Perfect use. Gundancer lets V aim at full movement speed and shoot while vaulting. Salt In The Wound adds a bonus hit after seven hits in a row on one target.
For cyberware, Shock Absorber cuts recoil, which helps keep a long burst on target. Clutch Padding lowers the Stamina cost of shooting. Kerenzikov slows time when V aims during a slide, dodge or Dash. Its mod slots take assault rifle and Power weapon mods. Ready Steady cuts recoil, with a bigger bonus while V aims from cover. Big Mag adds magazine capacity, but reloads get slower. Swiss Cheese adds armor penetration, but each shot costs a little more Stamina.
Select a Build
A Blood Pump at the start of a fight triggers Adrenaline Rush for extra Health. An air Dash while aiming triggers Kerenzikov, and the Sandevistan follows once Kerenzikov ends. Headshots deal the bulk of the damage, and cover is the place to recover Health.
