Johnny's Aviators are the silver sunglasses that once belonged to Johnny Silverhand. They are an Iconic piece of clothing for the Face slot. V gets them during Chippin' In, on the night when Johnny takes over V's body. A player who wants to dress V as Johnny needs these glasses for the face. They sit on top of the full Johnny outfit with the jacket, the tank top, the pants and the shoes.
Appearance
Johnny's Aviators are a cosmetic piece. In the game, clothing is mostly about looks. Armor comes mainly from cyberware instead.
The Wardrobe in V's apartments changes how V looks while the stats of the equipped gear stay the same. A whole outfit can be saved there and switched on later. The aviators fit into a saved Johnny outfit together with the jacket replica, the tank top, the pants and the shoes.
How to Get Johnny's Aviators Guide
- Finish the main job Tapeworm.
- Go to the Afterlife in Watson and talk to Johnny to start Chippin' In.
- Let Johnny take control of V's body.
- Play through A Cool Metal Fire to the end.
- Wake up as V in the motel room, and the aviators are in the inventory.
Johnny's Aviators Map Location and Quest Guide
- Finish Tapeworm, then go to the Afterlife in Watson to start the side job Chippin' In.
- Talk to Johnny at the club.
- Take the pseudoendotrizine pills so that Johnny takes control of V's body.
- A Cool Metal Fire starts on its own while Johnny is in control.
- Follow Johnny's night out. The choices in the scenes lead to the same outcome.
- Ride along when Johnny leaves the club with Ruby in a car.
- Wake up as V in a motel room in Northside, with Rogue in the room.
- Check the inventory. Johnny's Aviators are added automatically at the end of A Cool Metal Fire.

Lore
The in-game text says these silver aviators once belonged to Johnny Silverhand. Johnny was the frontman of the band Samurai. He was a sworn enemy of the corporations, and of Arasaka above all. He died in the attack on Arasaka Tower, and his mind survives as an engram on the Relic in V's head.
The glasses come from Johnny's one night back in a body. In Chippin' In, Johnny asks V to hand over control so that he can find Adam Smasher with Rogue's help. A Cool Metal Fire follows that night, as Johnny drinks, parties and rides through Night City with a dancer named Ruby. When V wakes up, the aviators are V's to keep.
