"Homing Instinct" Painting is a painting in Elden Ring. It can be picked up early, in Limgrave, within the first few hours of a run.
"Homing Instinct" is a painting found in an artist's shack in Limgrave. It is one of the first painting puzzles in the game. The painted view leads to a cliff on the southern coast of Limgrave. Solving it rewards the Incantation Scarab, a head piece for incantation users.
Use
The painting shows a distant Minor Erdtree framed by old ruins. That tree stands on the Weeping Peninsula, seen across the water from southern Limgrave. Standing at the spot where the view was painted reveals the painter's spirit, which fades and leaves an item behind.
Solution
Go to the arch of ancient ruins on the southern cliffs of Limgrave, northwest of the Seaside Ruins Site of Grace. Walk toward the cliff edge until the painter's spirit appears and fades. Solving it reveals Incantation Scarab.
