The Monk's Flamemace is a Hammer in Elden Ring. It carries the highest physical attack of any hammer in the game.

When to Use It

Mid game. It is found around Altus Plateau, which opens up past Stormveil Castle, so it arrives once a build has taken shape.

Why Players Pick It

Highest base physical in the class at 126, and highest max-standard attack rating (AR) on at 308 with D Str / B Dex. Only 13 Str / 13 Dex and 6.0 weight. This is the Dex answer in a class that is otherwise Str-flavoured. 4% drop from Fire Monks.

Upgrades

Ordinary Smithing Stones carry it all the way to +25, and because it is not a Somber weapon it will also hold a grease or a weapon buff, which is a damage source the unique blades simply do not have.

Build

Its scaling runs Str at E and Dex at D, so Dex is the stat worth levelling, and you need Str 13 and Dex 13 before you can lift it. Any Ash of War and any affinity will sit on it, so its scaling can be re-cut towards whichever stat you are already levelling.

Notes

Great hammer made to resemble flickering flames. Signature weapon of the Fire Monks, who hail from the Mountaintops of the Giants. The unique strong attack rouses fiery combative spirit.
