It lies on a corpse guarded by three Messmer Soldiers along the upper road southeast of the Castle Front Site of Grace outside Castle Ensis, in the Gravesite Plain. It has a quick moveset of its own that no other spear shares, built around swift consecutive thrusts at spear reach, and it weighs only 3. Scaling on Dexterity alone with a Dexterity requirement of 26, it suits a Dexterity character who wants to attack rapidly from behind a shield and break guards with Impaling Thrust.

Skill

Impaling Thrust costs 9 FP. The wielder gathers power, then lunges forward into a strong piercing thrust that punches through an enemy's guard. Most of the damage gets past a raised shield, which makes it a reliable answer to turtling enemies and players. The thrust can be parried. It is the weapon's default Ash of War, so another can take its place.

Suggested Build

Held one-handed behind a shield, it pressures enemies with rapid consecutive thrusts from spear range and uses Impaling Thrust to pierce a raised guard.
