A Bed is where a viking stakes a claim on the world. Until you claim one, every death sends you back to the Sacrificial Stones with a long walk ahead. For eight planks from the Seating and Tables section you get both a respawn point and the ability to sleep through the night, skipping the dark hours while your Smelters and kilns keep working.
How to Build It
The whole cost is eight Wood with a Workbench in range, cheap enough to leave one in every outpost as a forward respawn before a dungeon run. The catch is the roof: you can only claim or sleep in a bed that is properly under cover. To sleep, you also need a fire burning nearby and no enemies in the area, and you must not be soaked through. Build it indoors next to the Hearth and it raises the room's comfort as well.
