The yellow flower clusters in the mud of the Swamp are wild Turnip plants, and pulling one up is how your farm gets its first Turnip Seeds.

Farming

You find Turnip Seeds in the Swamp by picking their flowers. Picked seeds do not respawn.
Swamps are mostly covered in water, and the water makes Turnip Seeds spawn less often, so they are much harder to find than Carrot Seeds.
Planting a Turnip with the Cultivator option "Seed-turnip" gives you three Turnip Seeds.

The Cultivator offers two different plants, and you choose between them when you plant. The turnip plant grows from seeds, and you harvest it for Turnips to eat. The turnip seed plant grows from a Turnip, and you harvest it for seeds and nothing else. Neither turns into the other, and an edible plant never produces seeds however long you leave it standing. The wild turnip plants in the world are seed plants, which is why the first thing your farm gets from the wild is a handful of seeds.

How to Get It

The plants grow on open Swamp ground rather than inside a crypt, so you need no key and no pickaxe, only a free hand and the nerve to walk the biome. Getting there is the real cost. Leeches wait in the water, Draugr on the banks, and nearly everything deals poison, which argues for a Poison Resistance Mead and a boat parked close. Carry a Cultivator on the same trip and the seeds can go into the ground the moment you are home. After that the farm feeds itself, because a Turnip planted as a Seed-turnip gives back three seeds.

They take between 4000s and 5000s to fully grow, which is 66m40s to 83m20s, or about 2.22-2.78 in-game days.
